This is us

SoundAppraisal applies the soundscape approach to develop technology and solutions to improve the quality of the auditory environment and, by extension, quality of life.

We are a bunch of geeks with lots of knowledge on auditory cognition, signal processing, and artificial intelligence.

We believe that people are more than decibelmeters, and view environmental sound as a resource and not just waste.

Our biography

SoundAppraisal was founded by dr. Tjeerd Andringa and dr. Ronald van Elburg, former collegues at the Auditory Cognition research group at the department of Artificial Intelligence at the University of Groningen.
Dr. Kirsten van den Bosch and Arryon Tijsma MSc. took over the daily operations.
We became part of the awesome communities of The Big Building and Founded In Groningen.
